Testing & Certification
Introland offers a testing service for a variety of equipment, including eyebolts, lifting beams, ladder restraints, roof edge protection and harnesses, to ensure they meet the required standards.
These tests are carried out annually and we provide certification for each piece of equipment tested as evidence that it has met the required standards.
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations state:
Every employer shall ensure that work equipment exposed to conditions causing deterioration which is liable to result in dangerous situations is inspected:-
(i) At suitable intervals, and
(ii) Each time that exceptional circumstances which are liable to jeopardise the safety of the work equipment have occurred, to ensure that health and safety conditions are maintained and that any deterioration can be detected and remedied in good time.
If a fault is detected, replacement parts can be supplied and installed almost immediately. Deterioration can occur more quickly in certain conditions, such as wet, abrasive or corrosive elements, and our experience in the field means that we are able to identify these critical components long before any risk is suffered. Once an inspection has taken place, one of our engineers will then reveal the level of testing needed, based on the assessment of the risk involved.
The equipment we test includes:
- Safety harness eyebolts
- Ladder restraints
- Safety harness wire systems
- Mobile Deadweight Anchors
- Roof Edge Protection (Handrails and Demarcation Barriers)
- Signage
- Personal Protective Equipment
All of our equipment and testing also adheres to the PUWER 1998 Codes of Practice and if you would like to see a copy of one of our testing checklists, click here.
